blog break = inspiration hunt...

paris black and white photographyHappy Monday all!  I will be taking a break this week from blogging.  My baby (my computer) is heading to the spa - aka the apple genius bar for a few days.  In the mean time be sure to hang out with my good friends Jess, and Michelle. They will take good care of you!  Also check out the latest review of Confessions of a first timer from the fab Daisy Janie!  Thanks Jan!  Back soon with images from my inspiration hunt I am embarking on this week while I am unplugged!  :)

Spring Break...well sorta...

springHi!!  Hooray for spring!  I wish I could report that I was really taking a much needed break, but no rest for the weary around here!  I am taking this week off from the blog while I put it in overdrive prepping for SURTEX.  I'll be back next week with lots of goodies to share.  In the meantime, rest assured that I am sitting outside drawing away in this wonderful sunny weather!

bloom where you're planted - issue #07

ok. So I know I am supposed to be blooming where I'm planted.... but this plant may have to be repotted.  A trip to Austin, TX to be in a wedding reminded me why I love this music, margarita, tex-mex, artsy, outdoorsy, hippie, young professionals kind out town.  Good thing my roots are shallow right now...

Finally took a moment to say aaahhhh and went to the spa.  It was a long time coming truly.  The reason this is how I am blooming this week is because I allowed myself to be vulnerable (gasp) an made a new friend.  If you are ever in Atlanta, go to the bliss spa in midtown and ask for Mary!  ;-)bliss spabliss-spa4bliss spabliss spa

bloom where you're planted

This weekend I realized that in my transition to the south I have neglected a really important part of my life.  During my time living in Seattle, yoga became a huge part of my life.  I've missed my studio and instructors so much that I allowed this feeling of loss to paralyze me from finding a new yoga community.

Well, that's it!  I am going to stop feeling sorrow for the loss of my old routine and fulfill this essential part of my life!  This week I will be visiting three studios one of which I will make my new yoga home.

Happy new year to you all!!  I hope your holidays were wonderful.  I love this time of year.  I love the optimism and hope that is in the air.  As many of you know, travel is a big part of my life.  Some of you may know that I have recently moved from Seattle to Atlanta.  Yes back to the old south once again (I grew up here).  This move has really challenged me in many ways.  While discussing these challenges with a good friend, she said to me you just have to bloom where you're planted!  After a few weeks of trying to figure out every excuse I could give her so that I could continue to whine - I've decided that she is right.  So I thought I would share all of my adventures of my time in Atlanta with you.  Each monday, you will get the good, the inspiring, and anything else I may encounter in this reclaimed home of mine.

Love your city, or learning to love where you are planted?  I invite you to use this space to share your stories.  Please drop me a line info@khristianahowell.com.

Why wilt when you can CHOOSE to bloom?!!  I hope you enjoy...
