Jim Deneven is in a word inspiring. He creates these amazing freehand "drawings" (more like carvings to me) in the sand. He waits until low tide, finds a nice stick and begins, sometimes walking over 30 miles in the process. I love this work aesthetically for many reasons. However, what draws me in more is the drive to create - to create. At the end of the day, the tide rolls in, and it all washes away with the waves and the mist. Jim Deneven is an artist I love because he reminds us that it is the journey that is most important.
